VILLA D'ESTE: AGAIN AT THE FIRST PLACE FOR THE SECOND CONSECUTIVE YEAR!
The ranking list of the Best Golf Courses of Italy has just been published and for the second consecutive years CIRCOLO GOLF VILLA D'ESTE occupies the first position.
It is a beautiful 18-hole course designed by Peter Gannon which winds its way through chestnut, ash and pine trees sheltering golfers even from the intense August heat. Circolo Golf Villa d'Este is considered one of the most challenging and difficult par 69's in Europe, even though it is the site of several amateur competitions each year. The club house overlooks several holes and a spacious view of the Montorfano lake.
The second place is occupied by CIRCOLO GOLF BOGOGNO in Lake Maggiore, a club with two courses designed by Robert von Hagge: lot's of bunkers and water in play and also the height differences can make this a challenging course.
For the third position, we must leave the Northern Lake Region to reach Tuscany at the TOSCANA RESORT CASTELFALFI whose two courses are built according to the principles of sustainability and without adding anything artificial, and are among the most fascinating from the point of view of its landscape and are stimulating from a sports point of view.
For the fourth and fifth position, we must return back to the north and, in particular to Turin, the capital of Piedmont, where we find 2 golf clubs with 2 courses each: ROYAL PARK GOLF I ROVERI (4th) and CIRCOLO GOLF TORINO LA MANDRIA (5th).
